Life cycle assesment (LCA)

Life Cycle Assessment is a method of evaluating the environmental impacts of construction materials and components over their full life cycle, from the ‘cradle to the grave’. This means taking into account all the impacts associated with the production and use of the material from the first time there is a human intervention (normally the extraction and transport of the raw materials) until the last (the fate of the materials in the waste stream).
