The Albedo of a material or surface is synonymous with its solar reflectance. It is the ratio of the reflected solar energy to the incoming solar energy. Albedo, Latin for white, is measured on a scale of 0-1 reflectance, where white surfaces have the highest albedo, and dark surfaces have the lowest.
